The Miami Dolphins made the playoffs for the first time since 2008, and as a response, they have lost their defensive coordinator. After just one season as defensive coordinator (and leading the Dolphins to the 29th overall rushing defense), Vance Joseph is headed to the Denver Broncos to be their head coach.
This move created quite the controversy among Dolphins and Broncos fans alike on Twitter, as many Dolphins fans were torn to losing their new coordinator. Part of that controversy comes from Joseph's replacement, Matt Burke.
Burke served as the linebackers coach for the Dolphins, the part of the defense that struggled the most. Granted, the unit suffered injuries to Koa Misi and Jelani Jenkins, but still never quite grew during the season.
That being said, I have full faith in HC Adam Gase and his decision on his staff. He took a mediocre team to the playoffs and is bringing continuity to the team for the first time in a decade.
Burke, like Joseph, will have to rise to his promotion quickly.
Goodluck to both coaches and
