Former NFL veteran Andre Carter is meeting with the Dolphins, hoping to land their open Defensive Line Assistant Coaching position. Carter served as a coach at California, where he went to college and was an All-American.
In his long career as a defensive lineman, Carter had 80,5 total sacks, 517 total tackles, and made the Pro Bowl in 2011 towards the end of his career with the Patriots.
Carter, if chosen for the job, would have the chance to work with new Dolphins DC Matt Burke, who took over after Vance Joseph became the head coach of the Denver Broncos.
Carter was the 7th overall pick in the 2001 by the 49ers.
BREAKING: Andre Carter will assist the Miami Dolphins defensive line. He will assist Terrell Williams, who enters his third year on the job.
This comes as a relief to the Dolphins, who saw legendary DL Coach Jim Washburn retire this season.
