Miami Dolphins Jason Taylor Chooses Johnson

Former Miami Dolphins DE Jason Taylor has chosen who he wants to introduce him at this year's Hall of Fame ceremony.

Miami Dolphins 2017 NFL Hall of Fame inductee and Ring of Honor member, Jason Taylor, has announced that former NFL Head Coach and current broadcaster Jimmy Johnson will be his presenter during the Pro Football Hall of Fame Ceremony this summer in Canton, Ohio.

Jimmy Johnson coached the Cowboys from 1989-1993 and won 2 Superbowls during his time there. After 2 seasons working with Fox Sports as a TV analyst, Johnson decided to return to the NFL as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins in 1996. Johnson was responsible for drafting and developing multiple pro-bowl players for the Dolphins like defensive end Jason Taylor, linebacker Zach Thomas, cornerbacks Sam Madison and Patrick Surtain, and defensive tackle Tim Bowens.

In his announcement in a short video via Twitter, Taylor quickly mentioned the back and forth thought process he went through before he made this decision, but ultimately it led to his former head coach leading the pack.

“The more I thought about it, the same name always rose to the top of the list,” Taylor said. “So I’m excited and honored that my presenter this August will be the guy that believed in me from Day 1. He took a chance on an undersized defensive end, and never looked back.”

And Jimmy had no reason to look back after taking Taylor in the 3rd round of the 1997 NFL Draft. The defensive end went on to become the 7th leader in sacks all-time with 139.5, a 6-time Pro Bowler, 3-time First-Team All-Pro, 2007 Walter Payton Man of the Year, 2-time AFC defensive Player of the Year, and 2006 NFL defensive Player of the Year.

Not to mention Taylor is part of the NFL 2000’s All-Decade Team.

A true professional during his time in the game, Jason Taylor has always represent the Miami Dolphins and the NFL with the utmost class. Although his games against the Jets always brought out the nastiness of him. Lol

The Class of 2017 Enshrinement Ceremony will be held on Saturday August 5th.

CONGRATS, JT!
