Center Tim Ruddy has experienced no problem with his knee, and Coach Dave Wannstedt said the veteran would start Sunday at Jacksonville. No decision, however, has been made regarding linebacker Junior Seau.

Seau again missed practice on Thursday, and his status might not be determined until game day.

Wannstedt said there's a possibility Seau could play against Jacksonville even if he doesn't work again Friday, altough he probably wouldn't start under that scenario.

In other news:

-- Strange story coming out of Jacksonville. Seems punter Chris Hanson suffered a gash in his foot because of an ax in the locker room that had been placed there as a motivational tool by head coach Jack Del Rio.

With Hanson out of commission this week, guess who the Jaguars will be signing to punt against the Dolphins. Yep, none other than Mark Royals.

-- Wannstedt was assistant head coach with the Dolphins during their last visit to Jacksonville for a non-preseason game. That would be the utterly forgettable 62-7 playoff loss following the 1999 season, a game which turned out to be the last in the careers of both Jimmy Johnson and Dan Marino.

Wannstedt was asked for his recollection of the game, but he didn't offer much: "I can't even remember it, to be honest with you. I wouldn't want to comment because it has nothing to do with today and I really can't remember back that far."

-- Brian Griese has practice without problems all week and he will be the No. 2 quarterback Sunday, with Sage Rosenfels dropping to the third quarterback slot.
