The Dolphins were all set to trade Damian Gregory to the Cleveland Browns when they found out he had been involved in a serious car accident.<P>Instead, the second-year defensive tackle was placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list.<P>

Gregory underwent an emergency splenectomy (removal of the spleen) on Monday night, one night after Gregory was involved in an automobile accident.

Reports of the deal with Cleveland indicated the Browns would have given the Dolphins a conditional draft pick.

The Dolphins had been working to trade Gregory after he exchanged words with both defensive line coach Clarence Brooks and head coach Dave Wannstedt last week.
