The Dolphins have yet to place Daryl Gardener on injured reserve, which would officially end his season, but the big defensive tackle isn't expected back this year and the team has been trying to find some help at the position.<P>

The Dolphins worked out three defensive tackles this week, including former Jet Jason Wiltz, and also talked to the agent of Russell Maryland, who hasn't played since being released by Green Bay in the offseason.

Maryland apparently isn't interested in playing at this time, but he has a strong connection with Coach Dave Wannstedt, having played for him at the University of Miami and with the Dallas Cowboys.

In addition to Wiltz, the others who worked out for the Dolphins were Henry Taylor and Ryan Hale.

The Dolphins also haven't made a move with guard Mark Dixon, who is out for the season after breaking an ankle and suffering ligament damage in the victory at Buffalo.

The one roster move the Dolphins did make this week was the release of cornerback Zebbie Lethridge.

Once the Dolphins put Gardener and Dixon on IR, they will have three roster spots open.

Miami is not expected to go shopping for a veteran offensive lineman, rather it's more likely the Dolphins would promote either Brandon Winey or Anthony Cesario from the practice squad.
