Wednesday notes

Fullback Rob Konrad and defensive tackle Tim Bowens both were ruled out of Sunday's season opener against Tennessee when the Dolphins released their official injury report. Also Wednesday, the Dolphins traded a third-round pick in 2005 to St. Louis in exchange for running back Lamar Gordon.

Konrad underwent thigh surgery on Tuesday, while reports suggest Bowens has a bulging disk in his back.

Bowens' condition may have been part of the reason the Dolphins went out and signed former Bears defensive lineman Bryan Robinson, who played both tackle and end in Chicago, but is getting his first look in Miami at tackle.

In other notes:

-- You won't be seeing former Dolphins kicker Joe Nedney when the Titans visit Sunday. He was placed on injured reserve by Tennessee because of a hamstring injury.

-- Reports indicate safety Arturo Freeman has asked for a trade after losing his starting battle with Antuan Edwards. Freeman also asked for a trade last year when he was the returning starter at strong safety but was beaten out by newcomer Sammy Knight.

-- Defensive tackle Larry Chester's wife Neiko gave birth to the couple's third child on Monday morning. The girl, who came in at 7 pounds, 11 ounces, was named J'adore Larya Chester -- French for "I adore Larya Chester."

-- Former Dolphins cornerback Terrell Buckley, waived by New England on Sunday, has signed with the New York Jets.
