The Dolphins have had injury problems the entire season, but their injury report has never been as long as it is for this week's game against the San Francisco 49ers. No less than 16 names are on that list, including quarterback Jay Fiedler, who is out for the season after being placed on injured reserve because of a neck injury.
Interim coach Jim Bates said this week that linebacker Tony Bua
definitely will be out, and it's looking very much like linebacker Zach Thomas
, guard Jeno James
and running back Sammy Morris
will be joining him on the inactive list.
Morris was downgraded from questionable to doubtful on Thursday, meaning Travis Minor is likely to start against the 49ers. With Morris out, it also means Brock Forsey figures to get a few carries.
At middle linebacker, Derrick Pope probably will get his first NFL start and join Eddie Moore in the starting lineup.
Quarterback A.J. Feeley has progressed well after sustaining a back/buttocks injury in the loss at Seattle and will start as scheduled.
