Jenkins returns

Linebacker Corey Jenkins, who first joined the Dolphins as a sixth-round pick last year, is back with the team after being claimed off waivers from Chicago.

Jenkins was picked up after safety Yeremiah Bell was placed on injured reserve because of a broken fibula sustained in Sunday's 20-17 loss at Denver.

It's the third straight year, including his senior year at Eastern Kentucky, that Bell's season was cut short by an injury.

As for Jenkins, he had been waived by the Dolphins this year because the team had eight linebackers on the roster. He barely saw any action with Chicago before being waived by the Bears.

As for the other injury of note from Sunday's game, a published report indicates fullback Rob Konrad will miss the rest of the season because of a slipped disk in his back.

But interim head coach Jim Bates said Monday Konrad's status would be determined later in the week.
