It's the third straight year, including his senior year at Eastern Kentucky, that Bell's season was cut short by an injury.
As for Jenkins, he had been waived by the Dolphins this year because the team had eight linebackers on the roster. He barely saw any action with Chicago before being waived by the Bears.
As for the other injury of note from Sunday's game, a published report indicates fullback Rob Konrad will miss the rest of the season because of a slipped disk in his back.
But interim head coach Jim Bates said Monday Konrad's status would be determined later in the week.

The winner, who will get $25,000 for his favorite charity, will be announced Feb. 4 in Jacksonville, site of this year's Super Bowl.
All the finalists will receive $1,000 for their favorite charity.
