Bua out

The Dolphins will be short on linebackers Monday night against New England. Zach Thomas remains doubtful for the game, while rookie Tony Bua saw his season come to an end when he was put on injured reserve.

Bua had been bothered by a quad injury.

To take his place on the roster, the Dolphins signed first-year fullback James Lynch off Cincinnati's practice squad.

Lynch signed with Minnesota as an undrafted rookie free agent last year and made the active roster, only to be cut two days later. He spent 13 weeks on Cincinnati's practice squad in 2003 and was on their active roster for two games this season.

Ironically, the only time Lynch has dressed in his NFL career was for the Sept. 19 game against the Dolphins earlier this season.
