Miami brings in corner help

The Dolphins announced the signing of five-year veteran cornerback Mario Edwards.

Edwards, 29, signed a one-year deal with the team after spending four years with Dallas and last year with Tampa Bay.

The 6-0, 200-pound corner will add depth to a position that could possibly lose one of its stars if Patrick Surtain is indeed traded, as has been talked about quite a bit recently.

Edwards has played in 73 regular season games and has recorded four interceptions and 33 passes defensed, in addition to 195 tackles.

In other Dolphins news, the team announced the release of fullback James Lynch, who signed with Miami last December. Lynch was inactive for each of his three games with the team.
