More moves

The Dolphins continue to fine-tune their roster at the beginning of training camp, and among the many roster moves were the recent acquisitions of veteran wide receiver Danny Farmer and second-year punter Donnie Jones.

Jones, who punted for Nick Saban at LSU and left the school second in career average at 42.0, was claimed off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks. Jones averaged 38 yards punting in six games with Seattle as a rookie.

As for Farmer, he was out of football all of last season but spend three years with the Bengals. The 6-foot-4 Farmer is the all-time reception leader at UCLA, where he also played volleyball.

Other moves including the signing of two more draft picks, second-rounder Matt Roth and seventh-rounder Kevin Vickerson.

The Dolphins also waived three players, DE Vann Brown, S Atari Bigby and CB Brandon Haw, while rookie free agent LB Lionel Turner has decided to retire.

Finally, the Dolphins opened training camp after putting offensive tackle Tony Pape on the Reserve/Did Not Report List.

Additionally, S Chris Akins, DT Larry Chester, LB Eddie Moore and CB Will Poole were placed on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform List, while CB Shirdonya Mitchell and Vickerson were placed on the Active/Non-Football Injury List.
