No answer on Frerotte yet

There will be a couple of quarterback changes around the NFL this weekend, with Mike McMahon starting for Philadelphia and Tommy Maddox starting for Pittsburgh, but we still don't know if there will be one with the Dolphins. Gus Frerotte again missed at least part of the team portion of practice on Thursday, but he's expected to take a few snaps on Friday to see how he is progressing.

Coach Nick Saban said that Frerotte is making progress, but the truth is we might not know until close to game time whether Frerotte will be in the starting lineup for the game against Cleveland.

In the meantime, Sage Rosenfels continues to get a lot of reps this week and is preparing himself to be ready to step in.

Saban was asked who would be the third quarterback in the event Frerotte can't play and he answered, "We have somebody on the team that we would take snaps with to get ready to do that, if we feel it is necessary tomorrow."

When asked whether that player was wide receiver Marty Booker, who was a quarterback in high school, Saban said, "See, you guys are smarter than we are. Does that answer the question without me saying it?"

Frerotte is still the only player listed on the Dolphins' injury report.
