Roster move

The Dolphins continued tweaking their roster on Tuesday as they signed guard C.J. Brooks off the Oakland Raiders practice squad and released linebacker T.J. Hollowell.

A rookie from Maryland, Brooks went to camp with the Raiders this summer after going undrafted in April. He was waived on Sept. 3 and signed to the practice squad the next day.

The 6-5, 310-pound Brooks played both guard and tackle at the University of Maryland and was a two-time first-team All-ACC selection.

As for Hollowell, he was waived exactly a week after being claimed off waivers from the New York Jets.

Hollowell was inactive last Sunday at Oakland in his only game on the Dolphins' active roster.

Coach Nick Saban didn't make any definitive pronouncement, but it appears Zach Thomas will try to play Sunday against Buffalo despite a torn labrum in his right shoulder. Thomas would be fitted with a harness.

As for the players injured in the victory at Oakland, wide receiver Marty Booker and guard Rex Hadnot, Saban said both of them are day-to-day.
