New linebacker in town

Another day, another roster move, another change in the linebacking corps. On Wednesday, it's former Carolina Panthers starter Lester Towns, who was signed to take the place of newly acquired Zeke Moreno.

The 6-1, 245-pound Towns played in two games for Arizona this season after being out of football last year.

Before that, he had spent four seasons with Carolina afer joining the Panthers as a seventh-round pick in 2000.

Towns started 30 of the 55 games he played for Carolina, recording 227 tackles with an interception, two fumble recoveries and five forced fumbles.

Towns also has extensive special teams experience.

As for Moreno, the former USC star and former San Diego Chargers linebacker, he was released exactly six days after being signed.

He was inactive against Oakland last Sunday.
