Thursday notes

Wide receiver/kick returner Wes Welker missed practice on Thursday after sustaining a minor injury the day and he's been added to the injury report, but Coach Nick Saban said he didn't feel "like it's an issue."

Welker was listed as probable on the injury report with an oblique injury.

The Dolphins can ill afford to be without Welker, who has been the sole punt and kickoff returner this season.

Nose tackle Keith Traylor again missed practice on Thursday and remains listed as questionable.

Saban said Traylor might get some work at practice on Friday. Traylor has missed the last two games after undergoing minor knee surgery.

Defensive tackle Josh Shaw's yo-yo season on and off the roster continues. This time, he's back to replace Seth McKinney, whose season ended when he was placed on injured reserve.

With Chris Chambers on a tremendous roll and on the verge of reaching 1,000 yards receiving on the season, Saban was asked Thursday when he thought Chambers was playing at a Pro Bowl level. "I don't know why you ask me those questions," Saban replied. "I can't compare him to every guy. That's not fair. I like the way he is playing. He is playing good for our team and we are really happy with the way he is playing."
