2006 Schedule Released

The Dolphins will be looking for an especially Merry Christmas in 2006 because the night of Dec. 25 they will playing host to the New York Jets in a Monday night game at soon-to-be Dolphin Stadium. That was the highlight of the Dolphins' 2006 schedule, which was announced Thursday, if you don't cout the previously announced season-opening Sept. 7 game at Pittsburgh.

The Jets game joined that Sept. 7 game at Pittsburgh as the Dolphins' only scheduled prime-time games in 2006. Keep in mind, of course, that because of the new flexible schedule, the Dolphins could have as many as three more prime-time games in the final weeks of the regular season.

The Dolphins will open and close the season on the road, with the finale scheduled for Dec. 31 at Indianapolis.

The Dolphins also have a stretch of three consecutive road games in October, against Houston, New England and the Jets.

The Dolphins' bye is scheduled for Oct. 29, after they have played seven games.

Another interesting date on the calendar is Nov. 19, when the Dolphins will play host to the Minnesota Vikings. That game will match Daunte Culpepper against his former team.
