McKinney Has Neck Surgery

Guard Seth McKinney will miss the early portion of the regular season -- at the very least -- after undergoing surgery to repair a disk in his neck.

McKinney is expected to be sidelined between two or three months, which would put his return either sometime in October or November. Because of that timetable and the nature of the injury, it's possible that Nick Saban will choose to put McKinney on injured reserve, which would end his season.

McKinney, who was listed as the first-team right guard on the depth chart, had missed the last several days of practice because of the injury.
