There's just something about the start of training camp that doesn't agree with Brent Smith. Every Dolphins fan remembers last year when he tore an ACL on the first full day of camp, and now this year Smith hasn't been able to fully take part because of a calf injury.<P>

Smith did take part in some of the drills on Tuesday morning, just as he did on Monday.

Smith entered training camp as the projected starter at left tackle, but he needs to get some work in at some point.

In other camp news:

-- Offensive lineman Jim Bundren didn't take part in the morning practice after twisting his knee on Monday. He was scheduled to be examined in the afternoon.

-- Linebacker Tommy Hendricks was back at practice on Tuesday after sitting out the Monday afternoon session because of the flu.

-- For the second consecutive day, Portland Trailblazers forward Scottie Pippen was a visitor at training camp. Pippen was a guest of Jason Taylor's and he also knows Coach Dave Wannstedt from their days in Chicago (Pippen with the Bulls, Wannstedt with the Bears).

-- Offensive coordinator Norv Turner was walking around with a limp on Tuesday, the result of a mishap during a blitz drill on Monday when fullback Rob Konrad rolled into Turner's knee. Wannstedt joked that Turner wasn't hurt seriously enough to miss this weekend's trip to Tennessee for practice against the Titans.
