Timeout for Traylor

The Dolphins' stout run defense will be missing a key ingredient on Sunday -- and perhaps longer -- with news that nose tackle Keith Traylor will be kept out of action until his right knee, as Coach Nick Saban put it, settles down.

Saban didn't provide a timetable for Traylor, but said he wouldn't return until his situation had improved.

The knee, which has troubled Traylor off and on for the last few years, started acting up during the Green Bay game. Traylor underwent a series of tests after the game, but no damage was revealed.

But the problem never went away, so the decision was made to sideline Traylor.

With him out of action, Jeff Zgonina and Dan Wilkinson will split time at nose tackle. While both have ability, neither of them has the kind of presence in the middle of the defensive line that Traylor provides, so he clearly will be missed.
