It didn't take a long time for the repercussions of Thursday's trade with Washington to be felt. And it was quarterback Tim Levcik who suffered the consequences.

In a move that didn't come as much of a surprise, the Dolphins waived Levcik on Friday, less than 24 hours after acquiring former fourth-round pick Sage Rosenfels to be their third quarterback.

Levcik, a rookie free agent from Robert Morris College, showed a lively arm in practice but was too inconsistent with his accuracy and also was lacking polish.

That was evident in Levcik's only preseason action, last Thursday night against the New Orleans Saints. After replacing Ray Lucas in the third quarter, Levcik proceeded to complete only 5 of 22 passes for 61 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions.

The departure of Levcik leaves four quarterbacks on the roster: Jay Fiedler, Lucas, Rosenfels and rookie Zak Kustok.
