Lemon Gets Start at QB

Cleo Lemon threw his first NFL pass two Sundays ago at Buffalo; Sunday at Indianapolis he will make his first NFL start. Nick Saban confirmed that on Wednesday, saying it was important for the organization "to see if this guy can play."

The move didn't come as a surprise after Monday night's game against the Jets when Joey Harrington struggled for a second consecutive outing and Lemon did better after replacing him at halftime.

Saban said the plan was to leave options open as far as using both quarterbacks against the Colts.

Lemon then will become the eighth different quarterback to start for the Dolphins since Dan Marino retired, following Jay Fiedler, Ray Lucas, Brian Griese, A.J. Feeley, Sage Rosenfels, Daunte Culpepper and Harrington.

The Dolphins made a couple of roster moves on Wednesday, promoting safety Norman LeJeune and cornerback Shirdonya Mitchell from the practice squad to replace injured DBs Andre' Goodman and Eddie Jackson.

Goodman (shoulder) and Jackson (knee) both were placed on injured reserve.

Cornerback Will Poole, who was waived/injured last week, had a tryout with the St. Louis Rams earlier this week.
