Left defensive end was the Dolphins' last starting position up for grabs, but it might not be so open after Saturday night's game against Houston.

Adewale Ogunleye distanced himself from Jay Williams with his second stellar performance in three preseason games and just might have clinched the starting job at defensive end opposite Jason Taylor.

Coach Dave Wannstedt said earlier in the week that he probably wouldn't name a starter at the position until the week of the regular season opener, but don't be surprised if that announcement comes very soon.

That's how impressive Ogunleye was against the Texans.

He had two sacks, giving him a whopping six in three preseason games and also dropped a running back for a 1-yard loss on a rushing attempt.

Williams, for his part, didn't do anything to distinguish himself and was flagged for jumping offside.

Remember that the battle was reduced to Ogunleye and Williams last Monday after David Bowens suffered a fractured left hand in practice, an injury that will sideline him for about a month.

But after Saturday night, there is no battle anymore. Adewale Ogunleye will start at left defensive end for the Dolphins.
