The Dolphins didn't make any roster moves on Monday, but it appears the three moves they need to make to get down to the NFL roster limit are pretty well set.

The Dolphins had 71 players on their roster late Monday afternoon, but only needed to get down to 68 (the league limit is 65) because NFL Europe players are exempt until the final cuts to 53.

The Dolphins have three such players — cornerback Cedric Donaldson and linebackers Kevin Rollins and Scott Shields.

Coach Dave Wannstedt already has said that tackle Brent Smith will be placed on injured reserve, the result of his season-ending knee injury sustained during Saturday night's 24-3 preseason victory over Houston.

The other two players who will be gone are tight end Alonzo Mayes and cornerback Zebbie Lethridge.

Published reports indicated the Dolphins were working on possible injury settlements with both players.

Neither player was at practice on Monday, and Mayes' locker was cleared.

When asked about Mayes, Wannstedt said, "We're working on some things with him. We're still finalizing what we're going to do with Alonzo."

Mayes has a knee injury and the Dolphins have been awaiting word on the severity of it, which could mean the difference between an injury settlement and Mayes being placed on injured reserve.

As for Lethridge, he was injured in the victory over Houston.
