Here's a look at some notes, quotes and anecdotes from the Dolphins' 24-22 preseason victory over the Chicago Bears.

-- The offensive line, already without the services of Jamie Nails and Todd Wade, took another hit when veteran Leon Searcy injured his right triceps during pregame warmups. Searcy, who didn't play against the Bears, is scheduled to have an MRI on Friday morning.

-- The Dolphins began the game with a successful onside kick, but two players were injured on the play. CB Patrick Surtain, who recovered the kick, strained his left groin and was done for the night. LB Twan Russell suffered a concussion, but he later returned.

-- Adewale Ogunleye's two sacks gave him eight for the preseason, setting a new Dolphins preseason record. The old mark was six, set by Charles Bowser in 1982. It must be noted that sacks didn't become an official statistic until 1982.

-- Ray Lucas finished the preseason with a QB rating of 110.1, the best showing for a Dolphins QB in the last decade.

-- The Dolphins' total of 48 points in their last two games marked their best two-game preseason scoring output since 1997 when they combined for 59 points in games against Denver and Chicago.

What they said:

-- Coach Dave Wannstedt: "What I like about our preseason is the way we finished. I would much rather have finished with our first groups the way we did this week and the way we did last week. I think that's what you want to do."

--RB Robert Edwards: "One thing that Coach Wannstedt told me was that not only was last week's game important, but so was the day after. That week of preparation was also important. I feel better (now) than I felt last week. I haven't had any problems with my knee aching. Hopefully, I will continue to get better."

-- QB Sage Rosenfels: "I felt good. I've played a lot in the preseason this year, so I was over the playing nervousness part. It was just trying to go over in my mind my reads and things like that. The coaches did a great job preparing me for the game and the guys played well for me."
