Scouting Report: RB Lorenzo Booker

The Dolphins stayed with the offense in the third round when they made Florida State running back Lorenzo Booker the 71st overall selection. Here is TFY Draft Preview's complete pre-draft scouting report on the halfback, including bio, analysis and more.

School: Florida State

HT: 5-10.5 WT: 191

40-Yard Dash: 4.43

Bio: Rotational starter who posted 141/591/4 as a senior while adding 33/420 catching the ball. Led the team in rushing with 552 yards as a junior after posting a career-high 887 yards the prior year.

Positives: Quick, elusive ball handler with potential as a third-down back. Patient, waits for blocks to develop and has a burst through the running lanes. Weaves through traffic, sets defenders up and makes them miss. Immediately changes direction, losing little speed. Solid receiver out of the backfield who makes the reception away from his frame.

Negatives: Not a strong ball carrier who picks up yardage off initial contact. Never asked to carry the load at Florida State.

Analysis: An athletic, multi-purpose ball carrier, Booker should produce as a complementary back at the next level.
