Culpepper At Camp

Daunte Culpepper wants to be released by the Dolphins, but he was at practice Friday morning when the team began its last minicamp of the offseason.

The Dolphins are looking to trade Culpepper, but the veteran quarterback would rather be released outright, a preference he indicated in an e-mail he sent to reporters on Thursday.

Because of his health issues and his $5.5 million base salary for 2007, Culpepper won't be easy to trade, but the Dolphins apparently aren't ready to give up trying just yet.

Teams that look like they could use a quarterback at this point including the Oakland Raiders, particularly after the news that Andrew Walter has to undergo knee surgery, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Minnesota Vikings and maybe the St. Louis Rams, where Culpepper would be reunited with former Vikings and Dolphins offensive coordinator Scott Linehan.
