-- Also inactive against the Jets were CB Omare Lowe, S Scott McGarrahan, LB Twan Russell, OT Greg Jerman, DT Dario Romero and TE Desmond Clark. Sage Rosenfels served as the third quarterback.
--After being inactive against the Colts, WR James McKnight was in uniform for the Jets game. He didn't catch a pass, but carried the ball twice, once on an end-around and the other time when he lined up in the backfield and took a pitch from Jay Fiedler.
-- DE David Bowens made his first appearance of the season and wasted little time making his presence felt. On his first play of the season, Bowens dropped Curtis Martin for a loss on a third-down run, forcing a punt.
-- Ricky Williams became the first Dolphins running back to rush for over 100 yards in three consecutive games. His 53-yard touchdown run was the longest run of his career and the longest play from scrimmage of his career.
-- The Dolphins appeared to emerge from the game without any significant injuries. Defensive end Jason Taylor sustained a minor knee sprain but he finished the game and showed no ill effects in the second half.
-- What they said:
WR Chris Chambers: "I feel a load is off right now, and probably a little bit more for a couple of players who've been around here a little bit longer and probably even more for the fans that have been around here forever. That's a great thing for them."
TE Randy McMichael: "We played to win. Ending the streak, that was just secondary to the win. We won and it's over now. That was everybody's mentality. After the game last week, our whole thing was, 'We're not worried about the streak or anything, we're just worried about playing the Jets and getting another win."
RT Todd Wade: "I think the heat got to a lot of us, me in particular. It was a tough one out there today. It got pretty hot and some guys were better with it than others."
QB Jay Fiedler: "We want to go out there and created turnovers on defense and prevent turnovers on offense. We were able to do that today by number one running the ball effectively and number two we were in a position where our defense was playing so well we didn't have to press as hard and force the ball in there."
RB Ricky Williams: "We're at the point where we just want to win every game. It doesn't matter who we're playing. We're always intense. After last week, we said, 'It doesn't matter who we were playing, we're going to go out there and execute.' We did a good job of staying focused."
