Dolphins-Redskins Personnel Files

As we get closer to the Dolphins-Redskins battle, we examine news and notes involving players on both teams.

-- DT Keith Traylor is on the injury list with an ankle ailment but practiced without limitations. Traylor had an arthroscopic procedure on the ankle in the offseason. At 38, quickness isn't his forte, but his power to collapse the pocket is still there.

-- NT Paul Soliai will provide depth behind Traylor and the rookie will be an integral piece of the defensive line rotation. He is still raw, but has the kind of strength needed by a nose tackle.

-- WRs Ted Ginn Jr. and Derek Hagan are both considered No. 3 receivers, according to Coach Cam Cameron. Ginn will be used on quick slants and screens, as well as the occasional fly pattern, while Hagan is more a 20-, 25-yard threat downfield.

-- FB Reagan Mauia, who was promoted to starter this week, practiced without limitations despite sporting a cast on his broken left hand. He said that he is ready to go this week.

-- LB Joey Porter (knee) practiced without limitations, and is expected to play Sunday, although he said that he is "day-to-day." "It's a process you have to take day-to-day, but each day feels better the more I go out there," Porter said. "How comfortable I feel depends on me going out there and being able to be the player I want to be. It takes reps. I've got to go out there and get it done in practice before they're going to give me an opportunity to play in the game."

-- T/G Cory Lekkerkerker will be active for Sunday's game after being claimed on waivers from the Chargers last Sunday. Lekkerkerker will back up LT Vernon Carey. He played for Cameron in San Diego.

-- G/C Gene Mruczkowski is expected to be active Sunday, after being claimed on waivers from the Patriots last Sunday.

-- RB Clinton Portis (knee) practiced on Sept. 6 and is expected to start on Sunday against Miami while sharing time with Ladell Betts.

-- OLT Chris Samuels (knee) practiced on Sept. 6 and is expected to start on Sunday.

-- SLB Marcus Washington (elbow) practiced on Sept. 6 and is expected to start on Sunday.

-- LB Khary Campbell (hamstring) practiced on Sept. 6 and should play on Sunday.

-- OT Todd Wade (shoulder) practiced on Sept. 6 and should be available on Sunday.

-- TE Cody Boyd (neck) didn't practice on Sept. 6 after being injured the previous day and is questionable for Sunday.
