As we get closer to the Dolphins-Jets battle, we examine news and notes involving players on both teams.

DOLPHINS

-- WR Chris Chambers, who leads the team with 15 receptions and 201 yards, is battling a calf injury but is expected to play Sunday.

-- RG Rex Hadnot is hampered by a shoulder injury, but should play.

--SS Donovin Darius is slowed by a strained calf and has been ruled out of Sunday's game.

-- LB Zach Thomas hasn't practiced all week due to a migraine and what is believed to be a slight concussion. He was ruled out of the game on Friday.

-- LB Channing Crowder will move to the middle in Zach Thomas' absence and Donnie Spragan and Derrick Pope will share duties at Crowder's weakside spot.

-- CB Travis Daniels has been working at free safety this week because of Darius' injury and also because he has struggled at the corner in the first two games while guarding Antwaan Randle El and Terrell Owens.

-- CB Michael Lehan, who has been the nickel corner, is expected to see some time starting opposite CB Will Allen in the base defense.

-- CB Andre' Goodman participated in tackling drills for the first time in nearly nine months and could play his first game of the season on Sunday, most likely in nickel situations.

JETS

-- WR Jerricho Cotchery (shoulder) practiced on a limited basis Thursday. He is expected to play.

-- RB Thomas Jones (calf) practiced full Thursday for the first time in over a month.

-- FS Eric Smith (hamstring) was limited in practice Thursday. He returned to action against Baltimore, playing in extra-DB situations.

-- CB Andre Dyson (foot) was limited in practice Thursday. He returned to action against Baltimore, playing in extra-DB situations.

-- QB Chad Pennington (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday, but appeared to be moving quite well in the drills that the media was allowed to watch. He is expected to start Sunday.
