NEW YORK JETS

-- WR Laveranues Coles practiced limited Thursday, but seemed to be improving. He has a decent chance of playing at Miami.

-- WR Jerricho Cotchery (finger) sat out practice for the second straight day and was declared out for the game.

-- DT Kareem Brown was claimed off waivers from New England. The Jets will visit the Patriots on Dec. 16. Brown is a rookie from the University of Miami. He was inactive for all 11 games with New England.

-- P Jeremy Kapinos, a rookie free agent, has been signed to the practice squad. The Jets could be looking for some competition for incumbent Ben Graham.

-- QB Kellen Clemens has a passer rating of 56.9, the lowest of any qualifying quarterback in the NFL.

MIAMI DOLPHINS

-- DE Vonnie Holliday missed another practice on Thursday after re-injuring his right ankle Monday, and is considered a game-time decision for Sunday's game. His backup, Rodrique Wright, has been improving with playing time.

-- DE Matt Roth, who had returned to practice this week after a groin injury cost him the last two games, was back to limited practice, casting doubt on his status Sunday. Coach Cam Cameron praised the play of rookie DE Quentin Moses, who notched his first full sack Monday.

-- LB Zach Thomas (concussion-related symptoms) is still not practicing and will miss his fifth straight game. Crowder has blossomed at MLB since taking over for Thomas with 40 tackles over the last four games.

-- RB Jesse Chatman was limited in practice due to a sprained right ankle. Backups Patrick Cobbs and Samkon Gado are expected to get some snaps Sunday.

-- RB Ricky Williams underwent surgery Thursday to repair his torn pectoral muscle which he sustained in the second quarter of Monday's 3-0 loss to the Steelers. Williams is on IR.
