The battered Dolphins were severely short-handed at practice on Wednesday, with seven players sitting out and another participating on a limited basis.

The front seven was particularly affected, with DT Vonnie Holliday (ankle), DE Matt Roth (groin), NT Keith Traylor (ankle), LB Channing Crowder (foot) and LB Joey Porter (shoulder) among those sitting out.

Also missing practice were tackle Vernon Carey (back) and RB Jesse Chatman (ankle), while WR Marty Booker (knee) took part on a limited basis.

Coach Cam Cameron said Crowder and Porter should be fine, while Roth, Holliday, Traylor and Chatman were dealing with old issues.

Carey said after practice he was advised to sit out and could play if the game was on Thursday.

Buffalo, meanwhile, had six players missing practice on Wednesday: DE Copeland Bryan (knee), DE Ryan Denney (foot), DE Chris Kelsay (ankle), DE Ryan Neill (illness), RB Anthony Thomas (calf) and LB Coy Wire (neck).

Denney, incidentally, is the brother of Dolphins long-snapper John Denney.

Rookie running back Marshawn Lynch, who has missed the last three games after sustaining an ankle injury in the Nov. 11 game against the Dolphins, worked on a limited basis.
