Preseason Schedule Set

The Dolphins released their 2008 preseason schedule on Thursday, and it features the same four opponents as last year's exhibition slate. That means games against Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, New Orleans and Kansas City.

The Dolphins will open their preseason Saturday, Aug. 9 at home against Tampa Bay in a 7:30 p.m. The other home preseason game will also be on a Saturday, Aug. 23 against Kansas City.

Exact dates and times for the road games, against Jacksonville and New Orleans, haven't been announced.

What we know is the Dolphins will play at Jacksonville in Week 2 of the preseason and will close out the preseason at New Orleans, either Aug. 28 or Aug. 29.

Miami and Tampa Bay will meet for the ninth consecutive preseason and 16th time in 18 years. The game against Jacksonville will mark the sixth straight year the two clubs have met in the preseason.

Kansas City will make its first preseason appearance in South Florida since 1981. Meanwhile, the Dolphins will end their preseason at New Orleans for the fifth time in the last nine years.

Miami went 2-2 in the preseason last year against those same four clubs. The Dolphins will play the same four preseason opponents in consecutive years for the first time since 1978 and 1979 when they played Minnesota, New Orleans, Philadelphia and Tampa Bay both of those years. The Dolphins also played St. Louis in 1978.
