Signs of the Times

The Dolphins have kept busy the last couple of days signing players, including veteran offensive lineman Steve McKinney, as well as three more draft choices.

McKinney is the older brother of former Dolphins center/guard Seth McKinney, the team's third-round pick in 2002. Both of them played collegiately at Texas A&M, with Steve McKinney's NFL career consisting of stops in Indianapolis and Houston.

The three draft picks signed were sixth-round choices Lex Hilliard and Jalen Parmele, as well as seventh-round selection Lionel Dotson.

That gives the Dolphins four signed draft picks -- of course, everyone knows top overall pick Jake Long signed a few days before the draft, and that's four more than any other team in the league.

Finally, the Dolphins also added another rookie free agent, this one center Matt Spanos from USC.

Spanos played three seasons at USC, earning All-Pac-10 honorable mention honors as a senior.
