When a reporter asked Tony Sparano for his reaction to Jason Taylor saying he wouldn't attend this weekend's workouts because he was returning to Los Angeles, the Dolphins head coach took things further than anyone expected. According to Sparano, not only is Taylor planning on skipping this weekend's workouts, he also won't be practicing with the Dolphins for quite a while.

Here's how Sparano answered the question: "This is my reaction with the Jason Taylor situation. I'm going to answer this question one time, I'm not going to answer another question about the Jason Taylor situation after I answer it.

"Here's what I know. What I know is that Jason Taylor -- and I'm glad we know this, we've gotten the information and that's important -- I know that Jason is not going to be at any OTAs, I know that Jason is not going to be at any minicamps, and I know that right now Jason is not going to be at training camp.

"That's what we know. Jason's a player under contract with the Miami Dolphins. He knows that. Both parties are well aware of the information. That's all I'm going to say about it. I want to talk about our players now."

Sparano then interrupted the next question, which was about whether he could elaborate.

"I'm not going to talk about another thing about Jason."

A reporter then pointed out to Sparano that this was the first the media had heard of this.

"I'm not going to talk about another thing. What I'm going to tell you is that what I just told you is what I know, it's what we know. And that being said, we need to discuss the current players on our team right now that have been busting their butts for nine weeks here."

Sparano was speaking to the media after the Dolphins held an OTA (organized team activity) session in Davie.

After several questions about other players on the team, a reporter tried to get back to the Taylor issue and asked Sparano when he found out about Taylor's plans.

Sparano's reply was short and to the point: "I'm done with it."
