The Dolphins' free agency class of 2008 hasn't produced great results overall so far, and it took another hit on Tuesday when the team released veteran safety Chris Crocker. To replace Crocker, the Dolphins brought back another safety, Tyrone Culver.
With Crocker gone, it means that four of the 10 signees no longer are with the team. Crocker joined S Keith Davis, QB Josh McCown
and TE Sean Ryan out of Miami, leaving LB Charlie Anderson
, CB Nathan Jones, G Justin Smiley
, DE Randy Starks
, LB Reggie Torbor
and WR Ernest Wilford
still on the team.
Crocker actually started the season as a starter at free safety, but was replaced by Renaldo Hill after breakdowns contributed to long completions allowed in the first two games.
In six games, Crocker was credited with nine tackles and one pass defensed.
Culver, meanwhile, was with the team for the first five games before being released last week when they team signed another safety, Brannon Condren.
