Big Bodies Wanted

The Dolphins acquired a talented nose tackle when they traded for veteran Jason Ferguson last offseason, but it's still a position could address in this year's draft -- either to find a quality backup or Ferguson's eventual successor. That's why the Dolphins will be checking out a former ACC star before the draft.'s Will Vandervort reports that former Clemson defensive tackle Dorell Scott is scheduled to work out for the Dolphins before the draft.

The 6-2, 317-pound Scott played in a 4-3 scheme at Clemson, but it's a scheme with 3-4 tendencies. The Dolphins already had a good experience with getting a player from Clemson's defense, that being defensive end Phillip Merling, their first of two second-round picks last year.

Scott is ranked as the eighth-best defensive tackle prospect by He figures to get drafted around the third round, and possibly could sneak into the second.

That means the logical spot where the Dolphins would be targeting him would be at No. 56 in the second round or NNo. 87 in the third.

Last season, Scott recorded 38 tackles, including six for loss, with one sack.
