The 6-2, 317-pound Scott played in a 4-3 scheme at Clemson, but it's a scheme with 3-4 tendencies. The Dolphins already had a good experience with getting a player from Clemson's defense, that being defensive end Phillip Merling, their first of two second-round picks last year.
Scott is ranked as the eighth-best defensive tackle prospect by Scout.com. He figures to get drafted around the third round, and possibly could sneak into the second.
That means the logical spot where the Dolphins would be targeting him would be at No. 56 in the second round or NNo. 87 in the third.
Last season, Scott recorded 38 tackles, including six for loss, with one sack.
