Coach Tony Sparano hasn't formulated a plan for his starters for Monday night's preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he does know he wants to see his starting offensive line playing for a little while.
"I have no interest in my line playing only one quarter," Sparano said. "They need to play more."
The one question about the offensive line is who will start at right guard alongside left tackle Jake Long, left guard Justin Smiley, center Jake Grove and right tackle Vernon Carey.
A good guess at this point would be Shawn Murphy, but it wouldn't be surprising to see Donald Thomas start -- or at least spend some time with the first unit.
Sparano said he didn't have a plan in place for his quarterbacks yet, but again stated that Chad Henne will get a "good chunk of time."
A best guess there would have Chad Pennington playing one or two series, Henne taking over for the second and third quarters, and rookie Pat White finishing up.
Sparano also said there were certain players he didn't need to see very long in the preseason opener, and a good guess as to some of those would start with nose tackle Jason Ferguson. The same goes for running back Ronnie Brown, outside linebacker Joey Porter and cornerback Will Allen.
