Kudos for Carpenter

For the second consecutive week, a Dolphins special teams player has been honored. After Ted Ginn Jr. was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month, Dan Carpenter this week won the AFC weekly honor for his performance in Sunday's victory over the New England Patriots.

Carpenter kicked three field goals in the 22-21 victory, including a game-winning 41-yarder with 1:02 left. It was Carpenter's third game-winning kick of his career and his second this season. The other came in the 25-23 victory over Tampa Bay.

Against the Patriots, Carpenter also made field goals from 29 and 24 yards. For the season, Carpenter is 19-of-20, with the only miss coming in the home opener against the Indianapolis Colts.

The second-year player from Montana is tied with Minnesota's Ryan Longwell for first in the NFL in field goal accuracy at 95 percent.

Carpenter is the second Dolphins player to win AFC Special Player of the Week honors this season, following Ginn's award for his performance against the Jets on Nov. 1. Carpenter also won the award last year for his performance in the Week 14 victory over Buffalo at Toronto.
