As The Coaches Turn

The Dolphins' search for a new defensive coordinator took a couple more turns on Friday, but we're no closer to a resolution. And the Dolphins' former defensive coordinator quickly found himself a new job with his old team. We have all the details.

We'll start with Paul Pasqualoni, who has been hired by the Dallas Cowboys as defensive line coach and is expected to start working for his old/new team immediately.

Pasqualoni was hired to replace Todd Grantham, who resigned effective after the season to become the defensive coordinator at the University of Georgia.

As far as Pasqualoni's eventual successor in Miami, it appears the Dolphins have lost their second and third candidates.

After Romeo Crennel took a job in Kansas City comes word that Al Groh will be heading to Georgia Tech to become defensive coordinator there.

Lastly, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that Steelers linebackers coach Keith Butler has turned down the Dolphins' offer to replace Pasqualoni.

Exactly where that leaves the Dolphins at this point is unknown, although assistant head coach/secondary coach Todd Bowles figures to be considered for the job.

It's also possible the Dolphins could be looking at an assistant on a team still involved in the playoffs.
