2010 DOLPHINS SCHEDULE RELEASED

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross was hoping not to have any 1 p.m. games in September this season, and he got his wish. The home schedule begins with two prime-time appearances, including Jason Taylor's return to Miami on Sunday, Sept. 26.

That's what stood out in the Dolphins' 2010 regular season schedule, which was announced Tuesday.

The Dolphins will open the season with back-to-back road games, at Buffalo and at Minnesota before the Jets come to town.

The following week, it's a Monday night home game against the New England Patriots heading into the Dolphins' Oct. 10 bye week.

The Dolphins' first daytime home game won't be until Oct. 24 when the Steelers come to Sun Life Stadium.

The Dolphins have a third prime-time game on their schedule — that number could increase because of flex scheduling — and it also will be in Miami. That one will come Nov. 18 against the Chicago Bears.

Again barring a flex change, the other four home games also will be 1 p.m. games, with the home finale coming the day after Christmas against the Detroit Lions.

As previously announced, the NFL will feature only division games in Week 17, and the Dolphins that day will be facing New England at Gillette Stadium.

This will be the ninth time in 11 seasons the Dolphins end on the road. It will be the fourth time in that span the finale has been at New England. By comparison, the Patriots haven't played in Miami in the season finale since 1997.

The next-to-last home game will come in Dec. 12 against the Jets. That means the two games where the weather could be a factor will both be division games.

The two road games to open the season will be a first for the Dolphins since 1988. That year, the Dolphins opened with losses at Chicago and Green Bay on their way to a 6-10 season.
