The Dolphins made their first roster move since the start of training camp, signing rookie linebacker Micah Johnson and terminating the contract of veteran cornerback Evan Oglesby.
The 6-foot-2, 258-pound Johnson went undrafted out of the University of Kentucky in April despite earning All-SEC honors for the Wildcats. Johnson hooked up with the New York Giants as a rookie free agent after the draft but didn't make it to training camp.
Johnson's signing comes on the same day Coach Tony Sparano confirmed that fellow rookie linebacker A.J. Edds would miss the entire 2010 season because of a torn ACL sustained in practice.
As for Oglesby, he had missed the first four days of training camp, with Sparano saying he was sick.
He was considered a long shot heading into camp to make the team.
