Sperry was among the tight ends fighting for what likely will be three roster spots, and he didn't show much this summer after flashing some pass-catching potential in 2009.
Sperry's fate pretty much was sealed when the Dolphins re-signed veteran David Martin.
Davis, a practice squad member in 2009, was the fifth running back behind Ronnie Brown, Ricky Williams, Patrick Cobbs and Lex Hilliard and entered camp with practically no shot at making the roster unless he was spectacular on kickoff returns, which he wasn't.
As for Ivey, he was trying to make the team as an undrafted rookie free agent and just didn't show much in camp. He did make news, however, when he was photographed walking off the field after a practice wearing four sets of shoulder pads.
By league rules, the Dolphins have to get down to 75 players by next Tuesday, Aug. 31, before making the final roster cuts down to 53 on Saturday, Sept. 4.
