Julian Vandervelde Waived

The roster now stands at 75 with the back-up center gone.

The Eagles announced Tuesday that center Julian Vandervelde has been waived with an injury settlement. Vandervelde's departure pares the roster down to the required 75 players.

Vandervelde had been out since late July with a back injury, which required surgery a little more than two weeks ago.

The move is less surprising with back-up center David Molk playing exceptionally in second-team action this summer. The only surprise is that Vandervelde wasn't simply placed on IR.

Vandervelde played sparingly over the previous three seasons. He was a part of a 2011 class that proved disastrous. The only three remaining players from that draft on the roster are Jason Kelce, Casey Matthews, and Alex Henery.
