Cecil Shorts Out for Jaguars

The Jaguars will kick the 2014 season off without their most reliable wideout of the past few years.

It'll be the incoming class of wide receivers that Chad Henne must rely on Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia.

Fourth-year receiver Cecil Shorts has been ruled out by the Jaguars, as he is sidelined with a hamstring injury. Shorts won't even make the trip to Lincoln Financial Field this weekend.

Shorts' reliability will certainly be missed. With general offensive struggles over the past number of seasons, and the failure of Justin Blackmon to develop into a responsible teammate, Shorts has been one of the most trusted weapons in Jacksonville's offense. The receiver has caught 121 passes for 1756 yards and ten touchdowns in the past two seasons.

With Shorts absent, Henne's main targets at wideout will be three rookies: second-round picks Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson, along with undrafted sleeper Allen Hurns.
