Eagles Release Arrelious Benn

An unfortunate back injury concludes Arrelious Benn's time with the Eagles, after his second season with the team ended before it even began.

The back injury sustained by Arrelious Benn on August 28, against the New York Jets, proved to be his undoing with the Eagles.

The injury-prone wideout was released by the team Saturday with an injury settlement, per Adam Caplan.

Benn had been placed on short-term injured reserve August 29, a shocker to many, as it wasn't apparent at any point in the Jets game that Benn had been hurt. Earlier in the game, Benn burned the coverage on a 43-yard touchdown pass by Matt Barkley.

Benn had also missed all of 2013 with the Eagles, after tearing an ACL in training camp.

Benn is now free to sign with any team.
