Evan Mathis Injury Apparently Just MCL Sprain

It's only an early indication, but it appears the All-Pro guard's knee injury isn't season-ending

Geoff Mosher quotes an internal source in saying that Eagles left guard Evan Mathis is seeking a second opinion on his knee injury. A Monday MRI shows an MCL sprain with no ligament damage.

The general timetable for an MCL sprain is two to six weeks, which seems that, at worst, Mathis would be available after the October 19 bye.

Mathis sustained the injury in the second quarter, when a LeSean McCoy run attempt through the middle was stuffed, and the pile fell on the back of Mathis' legs. Mathis was helped off the field and briefly received attention on the trainer's table, before exiting on a cart.
