Eagles Sign OG Wade Smith

12 Year Veteran Smith to Fill Void Left By Injured Mathis

Comcast Sportsnet's Reuben Frank reports the Eagles have signed free agent guard Wade Smith. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

A 12 year veteran and 2012 Pro Bowler, Smith joins an Eagles' offensive line that has been decimated by injuries after the season opener. Tackle Evan Mathis will be out anywhere from 4-8 weeks with a sprained MCL, while guard Allen Barbre may require season ending surgery as a result of a high ankle sprain.

Smith, 33, has played in 138 games over the past 11 years with the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans, starting in 98 of those games.
