Updating the Eagles Roster

Injuries necessitated a number of changes to the Eagles roster Tuesday evening, as the team dipped into their practice squad.

As noted earlier, veteran lineman Wade Smith has been signed by the Eagles, filling the void left by Evan Mathis, who has since been placed on injured reserve with a return designation. Out with the MCL sprain, Mathis can return as early as the November 10 Monday Night Football match-up with the Panthers.

Two players not as fortunate as Mathis, Allen Barbre and Najee Goode, have been placed on season-ending IR. Barbre left Sunday's game with a high ankle sprain that will apparently require surgery, while Goode suffered a torn pectoral.

Taking their spots on the roster are a pair of practice squad call-ups in OL Kevin Graf and LB Emmanuel Acho. Graf's most notable action came while filling in for the injured Matt Tobin in the final preseason game.

To fill in the practice squad, the Eagles signed LB Brandon Hepburn and OL Tyler Hoover. Interestingly, the Eagles also released LB Colton Underwood from the squad at the same time as these moves, so the squad remains a player short.
