After exiting the game in the second half with an apparent leg injury, it seems the linebacker is going to be fine.
Talk about dodging a bullet.
Mychal Kendricks exited Monday night's game against the Colts with a lower leg injury, walking gingerly off the field and mostly under his own power. He did not return.
Casey Matthews would struggle in Kendricks' place, bringing none of the interior pressure or run-stopping instincts that the third-year linebacker possesses. The 30-27 win was great news, and it gets a little better.
Tim McManus reports that Kendricks claims the injury was just a calf spasm, and should be fine. Geoff Mosher of CSN Philly added that Kendricks was walking around normally after the game.
With Najee Goode out for the season, and Chip Kelly hinting strongly that rotation at linebacker is needed, Kendricks avoiding major injury is better news than Monday's victory.
